A Bit of History

The first issue of Word Fountain was printed in-house at the Osterhout Free Library in 2009. Since then we’ve printed 14 issues total, as part of a new schedule of two issues per year on a spring-summer and fall-winter rotation.

Our first volume since the 2014 hiatus was in the summer of 2016. That issue has since “sold out.” Some copies of our 2011 commemorative “Flood Issue” is still available at our main library.

We now publish both emerging and established writers from all over right alongside the best local and regional poets and storytellers that we can find.

We try to bring the best possible literary magazine to our patrons and give the opportunity for members of our communities to submit their work to be considered for publication with us.
