For 137 years, the Osterhout Free Library has served the residents of Wilkes-Barre and its surrounding communities in Luzerne County. We invite you to support your public library by attending the 22nd Annual Gala and Auction: Moonlight in Marrakech, which will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 6PM – 11PM at the Westmoreland Club. Through books, ideas, history, and imagination, the library opens doors to places we’ve never been, cultures we’ve yet to experience, and perspectives that shape how we see the world. In many ways, the Osterhout is our passport — inviting us to explore, to learn, and to connect far beyond our own backyard.

And just like Marrakech — rich in culture, vibrant in spirit, and rooted in history — this library is a place where stories come alive and where discovery never ends.
