The Friends of the Osterhout Free Library will host their 41st annual Friends of the Osterhout Free Library Book Sale! The book sale is held on the Library patio and runs Saturday, June 17 to Saturday, June 24.

*Back by popular demand is the Preview Night on Friday, June 16th from 5 – 7:30pm. The Preview Night gives a sneak peek, and chance to purchase items for anyone donating $10.00.

The Friends of the Osterhout Free Library formed shortly after the Agnes Flood of 1972. The group began by raising funds to help the Library recoup its losses. The annual Book Sale is the main fundraising event coordinated by the Friends.
To volunteer or donate to the event, contact Irene Martin, Friends President at imartin9647@gmail.com.

The Rotary Club of Wilkes-Barre and Wilkes University have announced the winners of the 32nd annual George Ralston Golf Classic. They are John Baranowski, Dave Kaschak, Rick Masi & Ted Yeager, with a score of 58 (14 under) on the Par 72 Blue Ridge Trail Golf Course in Mountain Top. The Golf Classic was held Friday, September 30th under rainy and cold conditions, but the winning team would not be denied.

A Closest to the Pin contest was won by John Ralston and the Longest Drive winners were David Lohman & Beth Stair. Funds raised from the Golf Classic benefit year-round children’s programs held at the Osterhout Free Library and its three branches throughout the city.

The Golf Classic Honorary Chairperson was Charles Davis, Ph.D. Chancellor of Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Visit www.osterhout.info to learn more about what the Osterhout Free Library offers the community.
